And the part about the one ring ruling, finding, and binding... that's the same ring as the one for the Dark Lord on his throne.

The Nine rings that were given to Men were still in the possession of the Nazgul when Sauron was destroyed. Of the Seven rings that were given to Dwarves, four were consumed by dragons, and three were recovered by Sauron. The Three rings of the Elven kings belonged to Gandalf, Elrond, and Galadriel, and were in their possession at the time of Sauron's demise. The One Ring of course fell into the crack of doom with Smeagol and was destroyed.

It was theorized by Galadriel that when Sauron is destroyed the power of the rings would fail too.

There were three rings for elven kings, seven rings for dwarf-lords, and nine for "mortal men doomed to die." Legend has it that at the core of each of the seven great dwarf hoards was a Ring of Power. The Nine were given to great men who became the Nazgul, the Ringwraiths. These were enslaved by Sauron. Of all of the Rings of Power, only the Elvish ones were never sullied by Sauron, and they are the only ones actually named by Tolkien. They are Narya, worn in the Third Age by Gandalf, Nenya, worn by Galadriel, and Vilya, worn by Elrond.
