Hi! Knuckles is an ECHIDNA (you say it like ikidna) Knuckles does love searching for treasure and is super strong. Sonic's faster than him and he does encounter Rouge the Bat, who also loves treasure. But Rouge steals treasure instead of finding it. Knuckles was born on Angel Island. He and Sonic are both good friends and rivals at the same time. Weird, huh? I'll post more info later. See ya!Knuckles is stoic and very good at kicking butt. NOT LITERALLY! He punches butt instead of kicking it.

The echidna gained its scientific name of Tachyglossus, which means "fast tongue", because it can flick its tongue in and out up to 100 times per minute. It is also a very tenacious eater, as it digs determinedly into termites' and ants' nests. It then proceeds to stick its sticky tongue as far as it can into the nests, getting as many ants as it can each time.
The echidna usually lays just a single egg at a time.

Echidnas are not born with spines (as they are known, rather than spikes). The spines begin to grow after a few weeks, and are quite sharp by the time the baby echidna is three to four months old.
