A 16 year can work at a jewelry store as well as they can work anywhere else. As a minor, parental consent must be obtained, after that, it's just another retail job. Now, if you are talking about apprenticing, that is a bit more complicated. I began my apprenticeship at 13 and thought I would die of old age before the legalities were worked out.(liability, insurance, etc...) Hope this helps and good luck!
You have to be atleast 16 to become a model for Jack Wills, but if you just want to work at Jack Wills I don't think there is an age limit. On the FAQ on the Jack Wills website it says:Q: How do I work for Jack Wills?A: For a job in store, send your cv in to the store manager at the store you wish to work. You can email the store manager direct at storename@jackwills.com. For example, if you wish to work in the Bristol store, email your cv to bristol@jackwills.com. We advertise on the jobs section of jackwills.com when there are specific positions available, but there is often temporary work in our warehouse and our Mail order Department, so if you're keen, send us a speculative email.

There are countless varieties of items sold in a retail store. Books, furniture, yard care equipment, clothing, household supplies, and tools are just a few examples of the items sold in the retail industry. Consequently, retail jobs are some of the easiest jobs to find in our country. A person in search of a job in retail may want to consult the ads in the Sunday newspaper. The websites of many retail establishments have information for people interested in a career in retail. Of course, a person can always go to the human resources department of a retail store to apply for a job. The following contains some advice on how a person can increase his or her desirability in the eyes of the hiring manager of a retail store. Most retail stores are open for at least ten hours a day. Therefore, a potential employee who has a flexible schedule and an open mind as to work hours is a likely candidate to get the retail job. Alternatively, a person who specifies the number and type of work hours he or she can spare is not likely to get the job. Hiring managers at retail stores like to see job candidates who are ready to meet the needs of the store. A person with work experience is also an appealing candidate to a hiring manager of a retail store. Even if the work experience was in another field, a hiring manager wants to see a record of regular employment and even references from former employers. It's always a good idea to leave a job on good terms with the employer. Chances are, the compliments of a former employer will serve to garner a position with a new employer. Another quality that is appealing to a hiring manager is a job candidate's willingness to move outside the job description. For instance, a person working in the shoe department of a store should be perfectly willing to fill in for an individual working in the baby clothing department. The employers of a retail store are anxious to hire people who can work on a team.
