Albert Einstein helped society because he made people aware of the theory of relativity and the theory of light.

He was one of the best scientists in the last few decades. He gave us a lot of new knowledge in Physics and technology that laid the foundation for all the industrial and technical developments that have happened in the past few years.

His Theory of Relativity led to a revolution in the way that we perceive time in relation to space and led to an understanding that our perception of the passage of time is, quite literally, relative in relation to the Universe as a whole. It is summarised in physics by the equation E=Mc squared, meaning Energy equals Mass times the square of the Constant. To his deep distress and regret, his research also led to the development of the atomic bomb- he was horrified at this, became fervently anti-nuclear, and said in shame 'if only I'd have known, I would have become a watchmaker'.
