I have Pokemon sapphire and the battery has run dry does that make me unable to catch latias?

All events that use time, such as the Shoal cave tide and berries, will not work anymore. If you want to replace the battery, you should be able to find sites on Google. It's a glitch, so if you get Jirarchi it will be fixed. Also this may be true: Do a trade with another 3rd generation Pokemon game.
