Spock, played by Leonard Nimoy, is referred to as Mr. Spock. Though, as a vulcan, it would be more polite to refer to him as: Spock, son of Sarek. ______________________________________________________________ This confusion may result from the fact that there were two Spocks at the same time. One was the real-life child psychologist Doctor Spock. The other was Mister Spock, a fictional character on Star Trek played by Leonard Nimoy. Gene Roddenberry was unaware of Doctor Spock when the Star Trek character was named Mister Spock. Following navy tradition from earth, Star Trek officers are referred to as Mister instead of by their actual rank. Spock was a lieutenant commander under Captain Pike, and a full commander under Captain Kirk, but he remained a science officer and a mister.
