i know lots about the Baudelaires but this is probably a thing i dont know obvioulsy in the hostile hospital they find page 13 of the snicket file which says "because of the evidence discussed on page 9, experts believe that there may be in fact 1 survivor of the fire, but the survivors whereabouts in unknown" but after that they dont find there parents but instead Quigley Quagmire he claims he is the survivor... and after that they dont really expand on that. it doesnt tell you if there was a parent that survived the fire.
