Yes, is not for the pre-adolescent reader for sure. The book works on several level, is actually much more than just the Horror thriller its fame has spawned.

At this time, Victor is a student of "natural philosophy", which involves chemistry and other science. Also of note: Victor Frankenstein is the creator of the monster, which is called the "creature" for much of the time in the novel. The creature has no name.
Frankenstein Jr (Frankenstein Junior) will be a good name as the creator of the Monster was Frankenstein.

I thought that the monster was dumb but on reading the book he was quite eloquent and could even read.
