There is a The Summer House Trilogy books by Alice Thomas Ellis, but I do not know if these books and the movie are the same.

The film is based on a short story, The Summer House, written by Ian Beck, who also scripted the film. He is also the author of the Tom Trueheart series of books (Oxford University Press) and the YA novel Pastworld (Bloomsbury). The original edition which is mentioned above from Inky Parrot Press is now out of stock and unavailable. It is hoped a new revisxed edition of the story may soon be available.
