∙ 13y agoAlways. In the Nickelodeon series, Zuko and Mai have had romantic feelings for each other since early childhood. In one episode, the show cuts to a flashback where Azula was playing one of her many potentially fatal "games" with Mai in their early years, and Zuko rushed to save her.
