There are events for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl in Australia. They mostly occur in target or toys 'r' us stores nationwide. I know this because today there was an event it was to get Darkrai. I went and got it but you have to have a mystery gift. I found at about this event by going to Nintendo.com.au it really helped me it says news & events at the bottom of it. Just click on what you want to see & it will tell you what you have to do to get the Pokemon. The Darkrai event ends on the 9th of November 2008 so go in to your local target or toys r us store & receive your Darkrai.
The Darkrai is level 50
Comes in a cherish ball
Moves are: Nightmare, Hypnosis, Spacial rend & roar of time
It holds an enigma berry

In Australia 5th Nov to 16th Nov there is a Pokemon event arceus in selected kmart or eb games stores.
