To find a Ford VIN number one should either go to the autobody dealer whom the Ford vehicle was purchased from, or one can go to the Ford Fleet website and follow the procedures there.
On a 2001 Yamaha Big Bear the Vin is located on the left side frame rail. Find the frame rail below the shift lever, follow that rail forward to where it dissapears behind the wheel well. Get down on the ground and look up behind the wheel well at the frame rail and that is where the vin is etched.
The VIN number is on the right hand side (from front) of the trailer hitch support arm. If you stand in front of the hitch, follow the right hand side metal frame back towards the body of the trailer. At least on mine the VIN number is stamped on this arm in 1/2" high numbers and letters.
