In the series Star Trek Enterprise (Starring Scott Bakula. Ran from 1999 to 2002, four seasons) in Captain Archer's quarters there is a row of paintings or drawings ships. In one of the episodes he explains that they all carried the name Enterprise. The first is an old, old 1700s sailing ship, then comes the USS Enterprise Carrier, then some sort of small space craft, somewhere in there I think there's a jet or something (could be mistaken), and then the NX-01 Enterprise (the first Warp 5 ship). Hope this answers your question.
The Starship Enterprise is a Space ship invented for the fictional world of Star Trek. To explore space and seek out new civilizations.
This varies from ship to ship (there are many ships named USS Enterprise in the Star Trek universe). Enterprise NX-01 (without the USS prefix) had a crew compliment of 83. Enterprise 1701 and 1701-A from the original series and movies had 430. Enterprise 1701-D from The Next Generation had 1000 (but that included the civilian families of the crew as well). Enterprise 1701-E (from the latest TNG movies) had a crew compliment of 885.

The first ship to be named 'Enterprise' was the French ship L'Entreprise. It was captured by the British Royal Navy in 1705 and renamed as HMS Enterprise.
The military of the West was the first to catch the enterprise. This was done in the days of the old West. It was hard to catch them.
The original USS Enterprise (the first of 8 US sea vessels), was a wooden Sloop (a single masted vessel) named HMS George, and was captured by an American Army officer named Benedict Arnold in 1775. He and his small party of men captured an enemy fort, along with a small wooden ship or two, the "George" included. The engagement had been near bloodless, and with "George" being the name of King George (the current enemy at the time), Arnold renamed the wooden ship, the ENTERPRISE. Although not stated, he probably named it so for the "enterprising manner in which his men showed initiative, ingenuity, and energy (all of which define an enterprise) in obtaining their victory" over the English that day.
1605, by the English. The Capitain of the ship was Captain Weymouth.
Christopher Pike, he was featured in that two part series
No, it was a pirate ship (or maybe an illegal privateer), which captured a slave ship. The cargo was then treated as captured treasure.
The Enterprise.
Enterprise was a television show reprising the interstellar ship Enterprise, although this time telling the story of the first such vessel. The series ran from 2001 until its final cancellation in 2005 and starred Scott Bakula.
