That he will be punished. == In the later versions of the Prometheus myth, Prometheus creates man from clay and water. It is thus Dr Victor Frankenstein who is the modern Prometheus, creating his monster from parts of dead people. And just as Prometheus was punished every day for stealing the secrets of the gods for mankind (namely how to make fire) , Frankenstein was punished by living in perpetual fear of his monster's revenge for stealing the secret of life from God.

It suggests that Frankenstein's main behaviour in such a story is similar to that in the greek myth prometheus, when prometheus (husband of pandoro, whom opened pandoro's box in another greek myth) steals fire from the gods and gives it to mankind, as a punishment Zeus (lord of the gods) chains him to a mountain and everyday an eagle pecks out his liver, but it grows back again.

this is like how Frankenstein steals the secret of life from the gods and as a punishment he lives a wretched life knowing that it is all his fault that his loved ones have been murdered

The Modern Prometheus. It refers to the mythical Titan who stole fire from the gods and gave it to humans. In Mary Shelley's 1818 novel, human life is created artificially, It's believed to be a divine power and not something for humans to craft.
