In this day and age you would get a completely different answer from what answer you would get if you ask someone alive during her reign so there is a big dilema There is something about the savage murder of one of her husbands, Darnley I think it was, or Rizio , he was stabbed 60 times or something & I'm thinking Mary may have been complicit in his murder. Not certain though.

Good Queen · Queen Elizabeth I was a good queen. · She saved England from civil war because of religion by creating the middle-way religion. · She managed to solve the Mary Queen of Scots problem without causing too much war and when there was war she also saved her country from the Spanish Armanda. · She managed to not get married to the wrong man from a foreign country. Instead she got married to her country. This shows devotion. · Elizabeth had the mind of a political genius and by choosing capable men to assist her, such as Sir William Cecil and Sir Francis Walsingham. · She was a determined woman and listened to the advice of those around her, and would change a policy if it was unpopular.

Not to the catholic church. She wasn't keen on the presbyterian movement that had swept Scotland. She hadn't much choice but to cooperate, but her short-sightedness (and healthy libido) made her a rather bad queen.
