Depend from which side point of views. For the Roman Catholic in those days she was the heretic queen; but for the protestant she was their hero. Despite all the religious conflicts, she was one of England best ruler, for she brought fortune to a country that was consider poor (compare to other superpowers such as France, Spain, or Portugal) during that era. And, she dedicated all her life for England (she never married).

She brought back the freedom of religion within England, where before you had to be either protestant or catholic. Elizabeth allowed everyone to choose.

She stood up for herself and had good perseverance. Her ministers tried to get her to marry and she refused.

She bought England peace, which it hadn't had in ages.

Her navy was 'the envy of the world'.

She could speak Latin, Greek, French, Spanish and Welsh.

She got a good reputation of being a 'good and wise ruler'.

She defeated the Spanish Armada.

She was involved in many rebellions, but she defeated them all.

She survived lots of Catholic plots.

Queen Elizabeth established the Poor Laws.

Great advances in exploration.

Making the Church of England Protestant.

She stayed in power for over 40 years despite all of the plots against her from

Mary Queen of Scots, Spanish Rulers, the Pope and even some of her lovers.
