People say that German shephards are really good protection and guard dogs if that is so then why do people also say that Dobermans look more vicios especialy when so man gsds are in the police?

Dobermans were bred to be look vicios wile German shephards were bred to protect, for eg a gsd will only attack if it truelly believes that the owner or its family are in danger wile a doberman just wants to fight everything that moves, a meen u could go up to a German shephard and pet it and it wouldn't bite but if you got aggresive with the owner or family it would probably kill you pluss German shephards resemble the wolf wile a doberman resembles a monster

Why are gsds number 3 in the dangerous dog list?

German shepards have had a reputation for being vicios since the 50s,60s,70s,80, and 90s and now, why do you think the police use for attacking people and the army use them for guarding, and in America German shepards are responsible for more bittings than eny other breed and in England 300 dogs die each year cause of German Shepard attacks personily i cant stick German shepards and the people that mostly own them are wankers , if you are thinking of getting a dangerous dog get a rottie a dob or eny mastiff breed but don't get a German Shepard they can turn at eny time

I really want a gsd for protection does enyone know a bit about this breed?

my name is Robert Davidson ive been a German Shepard breeder for 27 years now and ill tell you a bit about this breed,German shepards were bred to herd and protect sheep they would chase or even kill eny man or beast that came in its teritory , this is uncomon now ,they are now often in the hands of police depatments and militery units around the world ,there feirse reputation and protection capibilities makes them an excelent guard dog and deterent and they are a first choise when it comes to protection dogs ,but without properly trained these dags can be dangerously agresive and in the wrong hands can turn vicios my advise to you is contact your local gsd trainer and get there advise on how to train your Shepard, the other thing ill tell you is watch your dog ,often you will find that they will bark and lunge to some dogs that's because they are nervios and want to attack if your dog does this get an expert its only going to get worst
