He was born on November 3, 1801 and died at age 34 on September 23, 1835. He never married, but was known to be extremely promiscuous and did, just before his death, shared a relationship with another man. His dad taught him piano at the age of three, and was able to sing an aria at the age of two. He was the eldest of seven children in his family. He spent most of his life in France, and he died in Puteaux, France. most of his writing was classical music, but did have his share in operas. he was very picky about who sung in his operas. He would only let the best sing in operas, and when he didn't get them, he simply threatened to quit. He had his face on the 5,000 lire note at Italy at one point.
