It was basically unknown to the masses because there wasnt any internet, YouTube or social media. The groundbreaking public access television program called The Preston Lopez Show beginning in the 1990s was and still is a gamechanger. Although they were other spanish speaking older host who periodically did a segment in the neighborhood.
