I tried to think as many as possible *rattles brain*
Number 1:
The Pikachu Illustrator which is worth about £20,000. Never officially sold and was never released in English. The cards were given away as prizes in a Japanese drawing contest and only four are thought to exist.
Number 2:
Number 1,2,3 Trainer cards are given out as very high tournaments battles. You have to enter and win, come in 1st, 2nd or 3rd to get the corresponding card. Only 3 copies are made and each are specif to that year. $3000-$5500 but this price is reliant on what year the card is.
Number 3:
Pre-release Raichu. Instead of having Clefable as the new jungle Pre-Release card, a few copies of Raichu were printed with "Pre-Release" stamped on it. Rumour has it, only 6-12 copies exist. It is worth $10,000+.
Number 4:
A set of half-deck cards released 11 years ago at the Tropical Mega Battle of 2001. The sets given out to the players were in there native languages and even though the TCG was popular, not many people from England or the USA traveled to Hawaii, where the tournament was being set up, making the English Set very collectible. Only 12 are thought to exist, 2 of them actually being proved and shown. They are worth $5000-$10,000.
Number 5:
Pokemon Snap cards. The famous Japanese pokemon magazine, CoroCoro, released a competition that you had to take your favorite snap out of the game Pokemon snap and send it in. The winner made them into actual pokemon cards. Individual cards can reach $600, whilst a whole set can reach $18,000.
Number 6:
First Edition Mint Condition Charizard. Even though a few thousands or so exist, many are in bad condition or completely noncollectable. So when a mint condition is put up for sale, many people go crazy for it. Prices can reach $300+, with PSA grades of 9+ going for more. Even though not the most expensive on the list, popularity make sure it will always be expensive.
Number 7:
Shiny Cards were released after the Gold and Silver Gen 2 games. These cards were the first shiny counterparts of pokemon. Shiny pokemon were introduced in Gen 2, and are a different colour to normal pokemon- they are very hard to find by just running around. Shining Celebi and Charizard can especially be hard to get, with just good condition going for $150+ .
Number 8:
Southern Island car set. These special cards were released along with the Pokemon after the second pokemon movie. There were 18 cards in total, plus a collectable folder. If the cards are still in there original sealed packs (folder, cards and boost sets) then it can reach over $300+. They were some of the only promo cards not to be re-designed when released outside Japan.
Number 9:
Gold Star cards are like the original shining cards. They has artwork of a shiny pokemon on. Some can start low, $35+, whilst some, like Metagross and Mew goo for $70+
Number 10:
Various Full Arts and EX's. Even though though this is a wide range of cards, most are valued at $20+, with some exceptions of rarer and more wanted going for $60+
turn the 10 cards around and take three cards and then take two and put the three cards where the two cards were.
Hello. Most cards you should pay from 10-20 cents for, but if the card has high HP or if the card is holographic those cards are worth a lot more money. If a card is holographic and a 10-20 cent one, it is basically 5x the value, a non holo of the card would be 20cents and the holographic would be a dollar, that is basically how it works with Pokemon card values, and what to spend on them if you are buying INDIVIDUAL cards, for packs pay anywhere from $3-$5. In a booster pack (10 cards), it's just luck. In a big pack (paper box normally with 50-80), you HAVE TO READ THE BACK. This will tell you not only the amount of cards in it, but WHAT cards are in it. In the ones that are in a fancy tin box, again, it's just luck.
