In my opinion, all the Walt Disney World Resorts are amazing and family friendly. But the most family friendly resort is the Yacht and Beach Club. The pool there sets it aside from other Disney World resorts because it is pretty much a miniature water park. With sandy bottom pools, a lazy river, a beach, sink holes, whirlpools, and a pirate themed water slide this place is pretty much a non stop fun for kids and adults alike. There are pool side games at the pool ever afternoon which include games such as bingo, freeze dance, and a scavenger hunt that keep kids entertained for hours on end. This resort also happens to be walking distance from a special backdoor entrance to Epcot for those staying at Boardwalk and the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. This is a great perk for those who want to watch Epcot's nighttime spectacular IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.
The next best resort for families would be the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I say this because the resort is surrounded by an African Savannah. And kids just love looking at the animals, it can occupy an afternoon of fun for kids of all ages.
Common recommendations: the military discount resort Shades of Green, plus the Disney Resorts Old Key West, The Contemporary and Polynesian Resorts, the Grand Floridian and Port Orleans Resorts. Shades of Green and the Polynesian resort are right in the middle of three courses. Oak Trail has nine holes and is rated for beginners. The other five Disney courses are for mid-level handicappers, and are quite forgiving. There are driving ranges and putting greens at each location. Morning tee times are the most popular, especially Jan-April. Avoid crowds by playing on Monday, Tues or Wed and sign up for an afternoon tee time. Carts are required (except at Oak Trail) and included in fees. Reserve tee times up to 60 days ahead. Walt Disney World Resort guests get discounted greens fees, and free club transport between courses. When making reservations, ask if free transportation from your resort is included. This is a voucher for round-trip taxi service
