The theme of Inkheart is that friendship can be found even among very different people. This theme applies to the story because the main characters where from two very different worlds. Yet, they where able to find a somewhat reliable friendship between certain characters. Although friendship was broken occasionally by lies and deceiving actions, they were able to work together. Such as the time Moe, a book repairer and Farid, a fictional character from a child's book worked together to save Moe's daughter and their friend Dustfinger. They did this by setting fire to Capricorn's fortress. This caused Capricorn and his men to stop their murderess actions which gave Moe and Farid time to save their loved ones.
