Well, a white flag is known for a state of surrender. Italy is supposedly a 'wimp' (the 'he' part in 'He'talia) and they show that part off more with italy waving a white flag in surrender all the time.

The "US cruise liners" you speak of are not actually US cruise liners. They are owned by US based companies, but they are actually flagged by another country like Panama, Bahamas, Malta, or another country. In order to fly these flags and still be able to visit US ports, the cruise ship must visit at least one non-US port during every new group of passengers. The cruise companies prefer to fly the flag of a nation whose labor laws are not as strict as the United States in order to ... ummm, "streamline operations" (otherwise known as saving money). There is only one major cruise liner that flies the US flag, which is the Norwegian "Pride Of America." She flies the US flag because she never leaves the Hawaiian Islands.
There is no special meaning to a truck being under the American flag. It can be said that a ship is under a certain flag, which means it is registered in a specific country. No such rules apply to vehicles on the road. Countries use license plates and sometimes stickers to indicate a vehicle's country of origin. So, a truck flying a US flag means the truck driver wants to express some American patriotism.
There are only a handful of commercial cruise ships that are American flagged. The only ships owned by a major cruise line are operated by Norwegian Cruise Lines America. There are only three. Oceanic, the former Independence and United States are not in service. Oceanic is somewhere in Asia awaiting her fate by sale and SSUS is in Philadelphia laid up. Anyone wanting a more complete listing may contact the US Maritime Administration. www.marad.dot.gov
Really? We were not a country yet in 1690, so there was no U.S.A. flag!! We were under either British, Spanish, or French rule.
go in the city and find a blue flag and a red flag
There is no country without a national flag.
Since it's creation, the US Flag has stood for freedom and the American way of live. It is the symbol of our country and as a US citizen, I respect the flag and for all those who have died under our Flag to keep freedom alive.
