In biological terms, a clone is any organism that is the result of asexual reproduction, and which is therefore genetically identical to its parent. In the movies, we see that a single individual, Jango Fett the bounty hunter, was used as the genetic source material to create a whole army of duplicate Jango Fetts. They were grown from his cells in vats. Hence, they are clones.
