What does Harry Potter use to pay?

Answer: no you silly people, harry did not pay. its like public school! i mean, there are only like, 3 big wizarding schools in Europe, so the ministry has to take care of it, right? yes, they do. besides, you could always transfigure a tree stump into a chair, or something. besides, you have the malfoys contributing obsene amounts of money.

Answer: I don't agree with the above reply. It was mentioned that there was a special fund for people like Tom Riddle who were not able pay their own tuition - so pressumably, Harry Potter would pay. However, it was never mentioned explicitly that he went to a certain office to pay his tuition.

Unlike private schools, Hogwarts is free for all magical students. However, they have to buy their own books and equipment. Harry buys most of his equipment from the money his parents left him in their vault, although Hedwig is given to him by Hagrid as a birthday. Hogwarts also has a fund set up for students (such as Tom Riddle when he was a boy) who cannot afford to buy their own books and equipment. It is unknown where the money for this fund comes from, though it is likely it comes from donations, or perhaps from the Ministry.
