Well,Percy really liked Latin and the teacher and everything,so he decided the least he could do was to get a good grade.However,for his other subjects he didn't like the teacher and HATED the subjects so that why he gave up Or maybe he felt an attachment to Latin or just the Greek Mythology behind it. ---- Percy felt an attachment to his Latin teacher, Mr. Brunner. Mr. Brunner was one of the few people in Percy's life that had high expectations of him and told him he could do well despite of having serious ADHD. Mr. Brunner built Percy's confidence and made him believe that maybe he could do better. Also, the fact that Mr. Brunner believed in him made Percy not want to let him down.
