Percy may prioritize studying for his Latin exam over his other subjects because he finds Latin challenging or important for his academic or personal goals. Additionally, his interest or motivation level in Latin may be higher compared to his other subjects, leading him to dedicate more time and effort to studying for that particular exam.
Well,Percy really liked Latin and the teacher and everything,so he decided the least he could do was to get a good grade. However, for his other subjects he didn't like the teacher and HATED the subjects so that why he gave up Or maybe he felt an attachment to Latin or just the Greek Mythology behind it. ---- Percy felt an attachment to his Latin teacher, Mr. Brunner. Mr. Brunner was one of the few people in Percy's life that had high expectations of him and told him he could do well despite of having serious ADHD. Mr. Brunner built Percy's confidence and made him believe that maybe he could do better. Also, the fact that Mr. Brunner believed in him made Percy not want to let him down.
Percy decides to study for the Latin exam because he feels a strong sense of connection to the subject, particularly due to his admiration for his teacher, Mr. Brunner. Unlike his other subjects, which he has largely dismissed, Latin represents a personal interest and a potential source of pride. Additionally, he recognizes that doing well in Latin could help him regain a sense of accomplishment and self-worth amidst his struggles in school.
