What happens in Harry Potter book 7?

At the end of The Deathly Hollows Harry triumphs over Voldemort. During the final battle Harry and Voldemort square off. Voldemort is holding the Elder wand with the idea that he was its master but in fact, Harry had become the wand's master by disarming Draco Malfoy, the one who won it from Dumbledore. Using the Elder Wand in an attempt to kill Harry with the Avada Kedavra curse but the Elder Wand would not destroy it's own master so the spell rebounded upon Voldemort.

With the battle over the book progresses 18 years and shows Harry's new family. He married Ginny Weasley, his best friend Ron Weasley's sister. They have three kids; James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter, and Lily Luna Potter. Harry currently works as the Head of the Auror Department at the Ministry of Magic where he works with his best friend/brother-in-law, Ron Weasley.

In the Last Harry Potter (Deathly Hallows), many things happen. The basic plot is that Harry has to find and destroy all of Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes. the are: Tom Marvolo Riddle's Diary(destroyed prior to begining of book), Marvolo Gaunt's Ring(destroyed prior to begining of book), locket of Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff's Chalace, Ravenclaw's Diadem, Voldemort's Snake-Nagini, and though he doesn't know it - Harry Potter. Harry does not return to school. Instead he runs off with Ron and Hermione, going after these Horcruxes. Meanwhile, Hogwarts is in it's darkest. Severus Snape is now headmaster and the Carrow twins now are teaching Muggle Studies and Deffense agains the Dark Arts, which now is just Dark Arts. Harry goes off and destroys the locket and chalace. However, the lost diadem is at Hogwarts, so Harry must return to the school, where the murderer, Snape is. Harry returns and soon enough destroys the diadem. But the battle of Hogwarts has begun. Death Eaters against Teachers, Students, Parents, and The Order of the Phoenix. Harry participates where he can, but, since part of Voldemort's soul resides in him, he constantly sees what Voldemort is doing. Harry gets a vision of Voldemort, who is in the Shreaking Shack, telling Lucius Malfoy to bring Severus Snape to him. Harry, Ron, and Hermione go to the shack and watch, in shock as Snape is murdered. Dumbledore possessed the Elder Wand, a wand that will only show loyalty to it's true master. ("The Elder Wand cannot serve me properlt, Severus, because I am not it's true master. The Elder Wand belongs to the wizard who killed it's last owner. You killed Albus Dumbledore. While you live, Severus, the Elder Wand cannot be truly mine" -Voldemort Page 656) Voldemort tells Nagini to kill Snape, and the snake bites his neck. As he is dieing, Harry approches him, Voldemort having left. Snape gives Harry, neither courage or strength, but wisdom that comes in a silvery blue, neither gas nor liquid form. The memorys told Harry many things. 1: Severus Snape was Dumbledore's man. He loved Lily Evans, Harry Potter's mother, from the moment they met, which was, ironicly, a long time before Harry's father came into the picture. He overheard the prophasey that Trewlany made and told Voldemort. THE ONE WITH THE POWER TO VANQUISH THE DARK LORD APPROCHES. . . BORN TO PARENTS WHO HAVE THRICE DEFFIED HIM AS THE 7TH MONTH DIES. . . THE DARK LORD WILL MARK HIM AS HIS EQUAL, BUT HE SHALL HAVE POWER THE DARK LORD KNOWS NOT. . . FOR EITHER MUST DIE AT THE HAND OF THE OTHER, FOR NEITHER CAN LIVE WHILE THE OTHER SURVIVES. . .THE ONE WITH THE POWER APPROCHES AS THE 7TH MONTH DIES On that information did Voldemort kill James and Lily Potter. Snape was riddled with guilt. It was his fault, along with Peter Pettigrew, that Lily was murdered. Harry found out another shocking truth too. He himself was a Horcrux. He had to die. Neither could live, Neither could survive. Harry gives himself over to Voldemort who attempts to kill him. Both Harry and Voldemort remain unconcious momentairily, but they both are alive. When Narcissa Malfoy is sent to verify that Potter is dead, she feels his heart beat and asks, "Is Draco alive? Is he in the casle?" Harry wispers yes, and at that she stood up and announced to all the "He Is Dead!" Harry is not. Voldemort takes him back to the school and presents him to all of the people there. However, the battle starts up. Only after the death of his most prized Death Eater, Bellatrix Lestrange, Does Harry reveal himself by casting protego and saving her murderer, Mrs. Weasley. Voldemort and Harry face each other and Harry tells everyone about Snape and how he was on Dumbledores side - killing him only because Dumbledore asked him to. But that means that Snape never beat Dumbledore. There death was planed. And had everything gone as planed Dumbledore would die the last owner of the wand. but nothing ever goes as planned. Draco Malfoy had disarmed Dumbledore, but could not kill him. Disarming is a way of defeating too. Draco Malfoy is the master. But as Harry was destroying Horcruxes he was captured and brought to Malfoy Mannor. There he took Draco's wand by force. Harry is the master of the wand. Harry ends up killing Voldemort. and the book closes 19 years later, as Harry had three kids, two of which are going to Hogwarts, one of which is too young. At the platform, he tells his middle child - Albus Severus Potter - that it wouldn't matter if he went to slytherin. The scar had not pained Harry in 19 years. All was Well.

You will learn the history of Dumbledore. We discover that Snape didn't actually kill Dumbledore because he wanted to or that Voldimorte told him to... Snape was on Dumbldores side all along and Albus asked him to kill him on that night. He asked Severus to kill him because the moment he activated the curse on Marvolo Gaunt's Ring and was going to die within the year regardless.

Harry also triumphs over Voldemort during the final battle and the Death Eaters are rounded up. The school is rebuilt and Minerva McGonagall is declared headmaster. Hermione Granger finishes her school but Ron and Harry do not. Harry marries Ron's little sister, Ginny Weasley. They have 3 kids; Albus Severus, James Sirius, and Lily Luna.

The book finish on the sentence:harry scar has not hurt for 19 years,it was all fine.

Harry Potter did not die in the 7th book because, the night that Voldemort tried to kill Harry, part of Voldemort's soul went into Harry. So when Voldemort tried to kill him in the 7th book he actually killed the part of his soul that was in Harry.
