Why would wheels lock and engine die on corners on a Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The diff lock is switched or stuck on, when you turn the outside wheels have to travel further than the inside ones, the diff lock stops this happening and can damage the car if used like this on tarmack, only use the diff lock if you are off road and in difficulty of losing traction.

Can you sneak a dog with you on a airport?

traveling with petsOn board a plane? Yes. It must be in an approved pet carrier, and fit under the seat in front of you. The dog can't come out of the carrier at any time, I have tried and was scolded for it. The cost is $80 this year. You have to have a recent health certificate from your vet. Bring this with you upon check-in. Take your pet with you to the security area. Remove the pet from the carrier and carry it through the metal detector with you. The security will put the carrier through the detector, and you put your dog back in. When boarding the plane, you may board early usually because of the dog. You purchase your ticket for your dog at the counter. On your return flight, the same process is done. I have traveled bunches and bunches with my pets and never ran into a problem. You must notify the airlines that you are traveling with a pet and do this early during peak travel seasons. Airlines only allow so many pets to travel in the cabin area. If your dog is too large to travel in cabin, you can travel with the pet, but the pet must be place in the luggage compartment. Again, contact the airlines before making your plans. Some airlines do not allow pets to travel with the luggage during the summer months. It gets too hot traveling on the tarmack and pets tend to over heat and die. Best bet, contact the airlines directly.

Why many government are not efficient?

Because of job security, first and foremost. Last year, a jet airplane was loaded with nuclear missiles and it flew across the country: this is nothing new and exciting, because we transport nuclear missiles this way frequently, but what was startling was that the pilot and receiving base did not know they were nukes. The plane sat on a tarmack for days with a chain-link fence guarding million dollar and exceptionally dangerous weapons. Earlier this year, a navy pilot crashed his plane into a home in California killing three citizens, because he was flying too low (no mechanical failure). For some reason, I would be willing to bet my farm that in neither circumstance did the government fire an individual for wrong doing - when wrong doing certainly had occurred. Now, if you are an engineer at Boeing, and the component you design doesn't meet its performance and price target, you are liable to be fired and deserve to be. More importantly, when you start on said project, you know that you are performance has the ultimate consequence of a firing, so this does act as a motivator. I asked a government employee, currently in a military branch, what would happen if you slack-off to the point where any normal boss would fire you after perhaps a week of no performance, and he said that the performance would be evaluated and accounted for at the next performance review, which can be separated by as much as four or six years. Right now, I am sure alot of people would be happy to collect a salary check (a bulk of it, not taxed) for just playing internet games from 10 to 4 (his hours, not mine). We should fire government employees who do meet performance standards, and these need to be set by tax payers, and not the keepers of the gate or, most likely, cronied unionized peers.

How did California's geography affect California's settlement?

First of all we need to see what made California so great that people wanted to come here, before Gold was discovered in 1848. The Spanish came to California around 1500s and settled the west coast. They came through the south and by ship, which was one of the safewest ways to travel. The ship took them from Spain around South America to California, in later years they departed from their colonial ports in Mexico, and South America. Because of the early settlement of the coast by Spaniards and claims by the Russians, and british, California quickly became a coastal populated region, especially areas in the north near the main port of San Francisco. By the 1840s Farmers were trying to head west for the best soil in the world, California's central valley. The valley was not easy to get to, being surrounded by desert on the south and mountains on the north and east. By 1848 another reason came to settle in the valley and wester Sierra foothills, the Gold Rush. This allowed San Francisco to become a HUGE city, mainly due to its port, but cities like Sacramento, Fresno, and others were growing because of the farming and gold rush community. By 1850, the Union had accepted CA to be a state. Growth continued slowly through the 1890s-1910, but in 1914, war broke out in Europe and the coast became a major industrial hub for ships, and metal products for the war effort. In 1925, Dust Bowl Farmers from Kansas or Oklahoma, often refered to as "Okies" began pooring into CA where the soil was plentaful and good, over 3 milliion people can to CA in two years. nearly doubling the population of CA. The cities in CA were the fastest growing until 1906 when the great San Francisco Earthquake hit destroying most of the city. Citizens fled to surrounding Marin, Contra-Costa, Alameda, and Sonoma counties because of the effort surrounding the rebuilding of San Francisco. IN 1943 the Muholland Aqueduct was completed in SOuthern California, which brought water from the sierras to the souther coast through the California and Mojave desert, this brought and allowed millions of residents to move to the warm semi tropic south. Cities like Hollywood, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Bruno, Pasadena, Santa Barbara sprung up and forced a surge of residents to call the "green and tarmack desert" their home. Today California is still mostly a coastal populated region, concentrated in the Bay Area, Los Angeles Area, and San Diego Area, other major centers include Sacramento the capital, Fresno, the hub of Farming and along the interstate highways 101, 50, 5, and 80. California's top ranking cities: Los Angeles, San Jose, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Diego, Oakland
