The ride is mostly about that mysterious Yeti throughout the ride. You start in an ancient town called Serka Zong. In the ride it begins when you start in a forest and you curve around, climb up ,go down a drop curve again and climb up again through a cave and you see pictures of the Yeti that warn you that it's too late ,and that the mountain is the Yeti's home and doesn't like guests. When you are on top of the mountain you see Yeti footprints and go into a cave. When you come out of the cave you stop because of a broken track that was weirdly torn into pieces by the Yeti . After the stop you can see footprints of the Yeti in the snow ,and hear the yeti let out a cry in the distance. A few seconds later the train goes backwards away from the broken track. The reason you don't go backwards to the beginningis a track switch that activates in six seconds. Instead the coaster drops down fast in the dark. You stop again because you watch the Yeti breaking more tracks of the ride. ( That's just a video to scare people into thinking the Yeti is breaking more tracks for the ride to get stuck. At this time another track switch is activated. ) When it's done, you move 50MPH down an 80 foot drop through more caves. Inside one of caves was the Yeti creature that tries to get you. When you leave the cave you are at the unloading area of the ride where it ends. You exit and go to Serka Zong Bazzar, a shop about the Yeti.
Note: For those of you that think it's scary, you can learn more about on Wikipedia or you can watch videos to see how it looks.
Disney now allows night hours of the ride. It might seem scarier because it will get dark throughout the ride. The only light you see is when you stop at the broken tracks, the video before the drop ,and where you see the Yeti(there is another video.)You can see the Moon and a great view of Walt Disney World from the broken tracks.
The ride does tend to get stuck (stop) in some places.Usally the second lift, right after you enter the mountain,at the broken tracks, when you see the video, and the Yeti encounter.
Sadly, the Yeti has been taken out of the ride because the framing split and the concrete base of the Yeti is crumbling. Before he was taken out, a strobe light was placed in front of it to make the illusion of moving. There is now another video of it tearing more tracks that several people can't see at all.
Expedition Everest is a thrill ride in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. This ride takes you on an adventure on Mount Everest to find the monster within. It goes forwards and then at one point... the train goes backwards. The top speed is somewhere around 50 mph. Overall, this ride is really fun and I would definitely recommend to go on it at least once!
** I would say to go on the ride during the day because when you go down the big drop it is more exciting than what it is at night.

No, Expedition Everest (Disney) doesn't go upside down but it dose make you get that feeling that you are.
It is the giant drop on the ride Expedition Everest. The drop is 80 feet tall and takes your picture. Expedition Everest is my favorite ride at Animal Kingdom!
For starters it's called "Expedition Everest", not "Yeti"... but close enough. 44 inches is the height requirement
