Her real name was Linda Susan Boreman and she grew up in Yonkers, NY.

Believe it or not her father was an NYPD police officer.

At 21 she was in Fort Lauderdale by the pool and she was discovered by a total stranger and eventually he became her husband. He was the one that got her into some not so wonderful p**n flicks.

She became well known for her 62 minute movie 'Deep Throat' and it was made for just over $22,000 and grossed $600 million (which the mob got most of.)

The film 'Deep Throat' was a block buster.

I remember when it came out (didn't see it) but Canada would have nothing to do with it and it was more out of youthful curiosity that teens went flocking across the U.S. Border to see this film.

The film was also passed around for private showings by Frank Sinatra where guests such as Spiro T. Agnew and Sammy David, Jr. were guests. Other celebrities invited were Jack Nicholson (he wasn't impressed), Warren Beatty and Truman Capote.

'Deep Throat' for some strange reason legalized pornography for public viewing.

Later Linda Lovelace did a complete turn around and said that she was forced to do the film with a gun to her head. She also said that while making 'Deep Throat' you were actually watching her being r*ped.

She eventually wrote a book describing what had happened to her and named names. Wrong thing to do! The industry and any friends she had turned against her because they felt the book was nothing but a ploy to gain the acceptance of the American public who hadn't seen her movies.
