Your reference is a little, well Off-base. the (magic) airplane you refer to was a sort of improvised craft built by one-or two kids on the chassis of an express wagon, hence the title of the Film, Radio Flyer. It was a very controversial film and had a sort of double-entendre or trick ending. a somewhat similar film dealt with two youths and an (adapted) UFO made from portions of a tilt-a-whirl amusement ride, this was called the Explorers or Explorer. In a different vein, a man-powered ( but catapult launched from an automobile) monoplane was the central plot device in the Disney film- The Monkey's Uncle. Title character, Merlin Jones, was obviously an engineering student, and they carefully figured out launch velocities, originally they wanted l00 MPH, but later settled for sixty. The thing worked- thanks mainly to trick Photography. So there you Have- Juve-UFO"s
