The linkage is not fully engaging the transfere case. The system needs to be moved in and out of 4 wheel drive several times a year to ensure full shifter travel. Check under the vehicle to see if the linkage is stuck. hope it helps. duboff

If it blinks fast either one of the two lights are burned out or the relay is failing
If it is working it is OK, look elswhere for your problem, the transfer case might not be engaging but i can't help you with that.
my 2002 Chevy Malibu theft system is faulty if the car doesnt start whyen u first crank jit the theft light blinks and u have to wait 10 min while it flashes till it stops then turn the key of then start it what could be the problem.
If the light is blinking you have a severe misfire problem.
The engines in Chevy Trackers are Suzuki engines, I would recommend NGK plugs.
** Yes, all Geo/Chevy Trackers from \'98 on are the same. Also the Suzuki Sidekick.
The best and easiest way to find out is to call the parts dept of your local Chevy dealer or Suzuki dealer. Sometimes a Suzuki dealer will refer you to the Chevy dealer.
1999 and newer Chevy trackers don't have a timing belt, they have a timing chain and i was told by my mechanic that it shouldn't need changed at any specific mileage interval.
If the check engine light is blinking that means an engine cylinder misfire has been detected
Try replacing the four wheel drive fuse
what's the problem
i don't know if its the same for most trackers but my 1999 Chevy tacker which is a 2.0L takes 80w-90 GL-5 gear oil... and it takes 4.6 quarts too...hard to believe it!
