What is the storyline of Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief?

Percy Jackson, along with Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood, need to find Zeus's Master Bolt before the Summer Solstice, or there will be a war of the gods.

The Plot of the Movie:

Percy, Annabeth and Grover must find three pearls to get into the Underworld to save Percy's Mother who was abducted by Hades, the god of the Underworld.

Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon (the god of the sea). He travels to Half Blood Hill, the camp for sons and daughters of Greek Gods. On the way his mother is killed and Percy kills a minotaur, then arrives at the camp, with his satyr (protecter) - Grover. He arrives at the camp and meets other Half Bloods, such as Annabeth and Luke. Percy gets given a quest to retrieve Zeus's master bolt, as it has been stolen and Zeus is accusing Poseidon. If the master bolt is not returned before the summer solstice 'world war 3' will break out. Percy, Annabeth and Grover journey to the suspected Hades, domain - The Underworld. On the way they meet unsuspected characters, including the God of War - Ares. Ares tricks the trio into taking a backpack, which has been magically changed to be the sheath of the master bolt, so when Percy gets to the underworld, it will appear in the backpack. Arriving in the Underworld, it is revealed that Hades did not steal the master bolt and he has also had his Helmet of Darkness stolen. Percy arrives back on a beach, with the master bolt, heading for Olympus (the home of the gods). He fights Ares and wins by using his power of controlling water. Percy decides that Kronos (the lord titan) has been controlling Ares, and heads to Olympus. At Olympus Percy meets his father and returns Zeus's master bolt. Percy arrives back at Half Blood Hill and goes Into the Woods with Luke. There Luke attacks him with a scorpion. Luke had been working for Kronos. Luke goes to serve his new master. Percy and Annabeth both return to their families for the summer. :) THE END.
