well, I'm not gonna tell you about the legendaries, however u probably all know about how strong mewto is, but i will say this: LEGENDARIES ARE MORE POWERFULL THEN NORMAL POKEMON, so using them is unfair, there is a reason for why u cant use them in b.t.
but just to get back to the question, that depends on what opponent u have.
the strongest Pokemon are probably the ones that evolve 2 times, like larvitar, the starter pokemons, pidgey, and so on.
but the real powerful Pokemon are only strong in a team.
u should consider making a team like this,
venusaur strongest of the starter Pokemon due to variablity
gengar toxic, invulnerable to fighting Pokemon
gyarados he will not be defeated so easily, and therefore the tanker of ur team
pidgeot hm fly, whirlwind and so on...
tyranitar tyranitar is the power beast of ur team with earthquake and hyper beam
lapras lapras is extremely powerfull, probs undefeatable by only one Pokemon in battle
this? where is your team?

Some strategies for building a strong team of Pokmon for competitive battles include selecting a balanced team with a mix of offensive and defensive Pokmon, considering type coverage to counter opponents, utilizing synergy between team members, and incorporating strategies such as setting up entry hazards or using support moves. Additionally, training and optimizing the stats, movesets, and abilities of each Pokmon on the team can help improve overall performance in battles.
