The following are some mistakes in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

• Harry writes in his letter to Sirius that Dudley threw his Playstation out the window. This scene was set in July 1994, but the PlayStation was not released in Europe until September 1995.
• One of the most notable mistakes throughout the series is in this book when Harry and Voldemort's wands connect and memories of the last spells appear. In the first edition of the US book, James Potter appears before Lily Potter. This was fixed in later editions.
• Barty Crouch Sr mentions that his son gained 12 O.W.L's, however it was not possible to sit this many classes at once without a time turner (and Hermione was the only student who ever had that privilege)
• A notice in the castle says that classes will end early on Friday, 30th October 1994. This was actually a Sunday.

When Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort's wands connect, they begin to show the last spells cast by Voldemort's wand in reverse order- including the victims he killed. In first editions of the book, James Potter comes out of the wand before Lily Potter when it should have been the other way around as James died before Lily.

This was corrected in later editions.
