There are many different activities for children to do in Whitby, Yorkshire. There are obviously the beaches of which there are two Tate Hill Beach and the larger West Cliff Beach. Tate Hill beach is accessed via the East side and the West Cliff beach is accessed by the slipway near to the West Pier and also by the cliff walkways and the cliff lift on the West Cliff itself. On the beaches particularly in the summer months are the donkey rides, ice cream vans and a small children's fairground near the Battery Parade. In Pannett Park there is a new maritime themed playground with slides, swings, a climbing frame, hammock, climbing wall and a number of small apparatus suited to most age ranges. Near to the Swing Bridge there is a small area designated Kiddies Corner where children can fish using handlines and small rods hoping to catch the occasional small fish and even crabs.

Activities for children which require an admission are the leisure centre, large indoor play area and cafe, museums, science centre, crazy Golf, trampolines, bumper boats, small putting green and soft play centre.
