Rather than use a particular fuel, 'warp drive' creates a change in the curvature of space-time continuum. ANSWER: The ship would be able to manipulate gravity and literally be able to pull it's destination towards itself while pushing it's point of origin away from itself this allows travel to any point in space in short periods of time while circumventing the problem of time dilation, however it will require 10x2^27kgs of mass in the form of energy to travel just 10m at faster than the speed of light (c) A warp drive is a hypothetical mode of space transportation. A warp drive bends space as a means of propulsion. The Warp theory is much like Surfing. Surfers ride ocean waves with a board. the reason why the surfer and the board move forward is because the wave is moving them. A warp drive will create the same scenario. By distorting space around the center region where the craft is, you could create a "space-time" wave in back of the center region. The wave will distort space in the front of the craft, making space sort of "sink" or become weaker. Much like a tsunami. before the tsunami even hits the shore, the waters recede. The distorted space around the craft is called a Warp Field. You could travel the speed of light, but you still must deal with time dilation. And it would take a lot of energy to create a warp field.

What is the difference between hyper drive and warp drive?

Warp drive has a powerfull engine that warps space around it and hyper drive travels through space in a streight line where as warp bends the fabric of space to travel from one destination to another

Use warp in a sentence?

It was so hot that the plastic cover began to warp. A spacecraft equipped with a warp drive may travel at velocities greater than that of light by many orders of magnitude The star ship Enterprise can do a maximum speed of warp ten. Each individual warp thread in a fabric is called a warp end.

Why does a space shuttle move in space when there is no gravity?

The warp drive engages.

What powers the warp drive?

The "warp drive" is a ficticious device used in science fiction - specifically, in the Star Trek series. It is not a real device, and I don't think many details are published about how it is supposed to work.

Is warp drive possible?

No. Our species does not possess the technology for faster than light speed.

What fictional crystal is used to power the warp drive in the Star Trek universe?

Dilithium

Is a warp drive possible?

Not with our current level of technology. Maybe in a hundred years or more.

Where can you get a warp drive and how much do they cost?

Try amazon and if they're sold out, try ebay

Does Warp Drive destroy the fabric of space?

Nobody knows, because so far, there is no such thing as warp drive, and the fabric of space is an almost meaningless phrase that's used mainly to talk about Physics to people who don't understand much of it.

If enterprise was caught in black hole could it use warp drive to escape?

Assuming a warp drive opened a wormhole, yes. If it only allowed the ship to travel "conventionally" faster than light, it would depend on how close it got. Once it passed the event horizon it would be so smashed up, there'd be nothing to run the 'warp drive' - matter and energy compress harder and faster as you approach the event horizon.

In the original Star Trek series How fast was Warp drive?

According to Wikipedia, the Enterprise (NCC-1701) had a maximum speed of warp 9.(Article: "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(NCC-1701)")

Who play 7 of nine in voyager?

Jeri Ryan, who is hotter than the Voyager's engines during warp drive.
