The "warp drive" is a ficticious device used in Science Fiction - specifically, in the Star Trek series. It is not a real device, and I don't think many details are published about how it is supposed to work.

Where can you get a warp drive and how much do they cost?

Warp drives currently only exist in science fiction. If they were to be developed in the future, it would likely be by a government space agency or a large aerospace company. The cost of such technology is impossible to predict at this time.

What is the warp drive equation and how does it enable faster-than-light travel in science fiction?

The warp drive equation is a theoretical concept in science fiction that suggests a way to achieve faster-than-light travel by manipulating spacetime. It involves creating a warp bubble around a spacecraft, which contracts space in front of the ship and expands it behind, allowing the ship to "surf" through spacetime at speeds faster than light. This concept is often used in science fiction to explain how spacecraft can travel vast distances in a short amount of time.

What is the Alcubierre warp drive and how does it work?

It is a mathematical metric showing how a ship could theoretically travel faster than light in a global sense while not violating any physics laws. It works by not propelling the ship conventionally such as with rockets, but actually "warping" spacetime around the ship itself. The ship is actually sitting still inside of the spacetime warp bubble but on the outside you are going faster than light. From what we know so far, the only way we think we can artifically warp spacetime is by somehow manipulating exotic matter, such as dark matter perhaps, which as of now we have no idea how to do. In star trek they generate a certain form of matter called "warp plasma" from an antimatter reactor. They then shoot the plasma, which I thorize to be some form of exotic matter, onto a warp coil which creates the bubble outside of the ship. They shoot the plasma onto the warp coil in a pattern, which creates propultion. As of now, we will need some large physics breakthroughs to make this work, and we don't even know if it's possible right now. If we were to fund things like NASA more instead of wars and unneeded welfare, we could have something like this and be exploring the stars in 100 years instead of 400.

Why do baking sheets warp when exposed to high temperatures in the oven?

Baking sheets warp when exposed to high temperatures in the oven because the metal expands unevenly due to the heat, causing the sheet to bend or warp.

Why do cookie sheets warp when exposed to high temperatures in the oven?

Cookie sheets warp when exposed to high temperatures in the oven because the metal expands unevenly due to the heat, causing the sheet to bend or warp.

What is the difference between hyper drive and warp drive?

Warp drive has a powerfull engine that warps space around it and hyper drive travels through space in a streight line where as warp bends the fabric of space to travel from one destination to another

Use warp in a sentence?

It was so hot that the plastic cover began to warp. A spacecraft equipped with a warp drive may travel at velocities greater than that of light by many orders of magnitude The star ship Enterprise can do a maximum speed of warp ten. Each individual warp thread in a fabric is called a warp end.

Is warp drive possible?

No. Our species does not possess the technology for faster than light speed.

Is a warp drive possible?

Not with our current level of technology. Maybe in a hundred years or more.

What fictional crystal is used to power the warp drive in the Star Trek universe?

Dilithium

What does the rock that says holder of the sacred powers we grant you the power of wind mean and what do you do?

When you get a certain item you can use them to warp.

Does Warp Drive destroy the fabric of space?

Nobody knows, because so far, there is no such thing as warp drive, and the fabric of space is an almost meaningless phrase that's used mainly to talk about Physics to people who don't understand much of it.

If enterprise was caught in black hole could it use warp drive to escape?

Assuming a warp drive opened a wormhole, yes. If it only allowed the ship to travel "conventionally" faster than light, it would depend on how close it got. Once it passed the event horizon it would be so smashed up, there'd be nothing to run the 'warp drive' - matter and energy compress harder and faster as you approach the event horizon.

How can warp drive be achieved?

At the present state of the art in Physics and Engineering technology, the only known means of achieving warp drive is by watching a lot of old episodes of Star Trek ... enough to make you believe you're aboard the Enterprise, happily drifting through the cosmos in a glorified tin can along with Dr. Crusher and Marina Syrtis. However, there are other technical possibilities such as the phase-shifted electrodynamic propulsion. See the related link.
