The "warp drive" is a ficticious device used in science fiction - specifically, in the Star Trek series. It is not a real device, and I don't think many details are published about how it is supposed to work.
The warp drive equation is a theoretical concept in science fiction that suggests a way to achieve faster-than-light travel by manipulating spacetime. It involves creating a warp bubble around a spacecraft, which contracts space in front of the ship and expands it behind, allowing the ship to "surf" through spacetime at speeds faster than light. This concept is often used in science fiction to explain how spacecraft can travel vast distances in a short amount of time.
It is a mathematical metric showing how a ship could theoretically travel faster than light in a global sense while not violating any physics laws. It works by not propelling the ship conventionally such as with rockets, but actually "warping" spacetime around the ship itself. The ship is actually sitting still inside of the spacetime warp bubble but on the outside you are going faster than light. From what we know so far, the only way we think we can artifically warp spacetime is by somehow manipulating exotic matter, such as dark matter perhaps, which as of now we have no idea how to do. In star trek they generate a certain form of matter called "warp plasma" from an antimatter reactor. They then shoot the plasma, which I thorize to be some form of exotic matter, onto a warp coil which creates the bubble outside of the ship. They shoot the plasma onto the warp coil in a pattern, which creates propultion. As of now, we will need some large physics breakthroughs to make this work, and we don't even know if it's possible right now. If we were to fund things like NASA more instead of wars and unneeded welfare, we could have something like this and be exploring the stars in 100 years instead of 400.
Baking sheets warp when exposed to high temperatures in the oven because the metal expands unevenly due to the heat, causing the sheet to bend or warp.
Cookie sheets warp when exposed to high temperatures in the oven because the metal expands unevenly due to the heat, causing the sheet to bend or warp.
Warp drive has a powerfull engine that warps space around it and hyper drive travels through space in a streight line where as warp bends the fabric of space to travel from one destination to another
Nobody knows, because so far, there is no such thing as warp drive, and the fabric of space is an almost meaningless phrase that's used mainly to talk about Physics to people who don't understand much of it.
