Long story short, he fell in love with Death (personified, of course), was tortured repeatedly, mercy-killed his best friend, had his heart ripped out (literally), staged a jailbreak, got back in the Merc business, was hired to kill Cable, got his butt kicked by X-Force, helped Siryn fight against her uncle and the Juggernaut, fell in love with her (hopelessly, since she's a smoking hot Scot and he's a walking scab), AND SO ON AND SO FORTH.
