No. Silver comes from the future of Sonic's world. However, many people believe that Silver is Sonic's "son" (so to say) 200 years in the future. If not Sonic's son, then Shadow's due to the "chest hair" and the fact that in the game "Sonic and the Black Knight" Shadow roleplays as Lancelot while Silver roleplays as Galahad. According to Arthurian legends, Galahad is the son of Lancelot so a lot of fans seem to take advantage of this one fact.
