Old Time Gospel Hour - 1956 The Deafening Silence of America's Pulpits was released on: USA: 6 June 1993
Francis T. Dollman has written: 'Examples of antient pulpits existing in England' -- subject(s): Pulpits
Pulpits have a religious connotation. In christian religions, there are usually two speakers, with the one on the left considered the pulpit, which is where gospels are read from. Pulpits and Lecterns are basically the same thing, except a pulpit implies religion and giving a sermon.
Malachi O'Doherty has written: 'Empty pulpits'
a pulpit is an elevated platform in which the priest preaches or conducts a religious service.
Some Quakers might have pulpits although many do not because they do not have people appointed to lead their worship or preach.
Piero Morselli has written: 'La Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Carceri in Prato' -- subject(s): Buildings, structures, Santa Maria delle Carceri (Church : Prato, Italy) 'Tommaso di Piero Trombetto' -- subject(s): Painting 'Corpus of Tuscan pulpits 1400-1550' -- subject(s): Pulpits
A pulpit is generally used as a place for preachers to stand behind to speak God's word. It is, for lack of a better term, a piece of furniture that is about 40 inches tall and about 24 inches wide. It is a good place to set a Bible and a notebook. Some pulpits have a built in microphone with shelves below to store other books. Pulpits are generally in front of the worship area where people assemble.
