Santa Claus is a fictional character based upon the real life St. Nicholas, a Christian Greek who used his entire inheritance to help the needy, the sick and the suffering. St. Nicholas died on December 6th, 343CE (December 19th in the modern calendar, known as St. Nicholas Day).

Being a fictional character based upon a dead Bishop, an official fan e-mail address for Santa Claus is not available. However, there are many unofficial e-mail and postal mailing addresses where Santa mail may be sent.

Traditionally, Santa Claus is said to live at the north pole (where there are obviously no mail boxes). However, in Scotland, we get our kids to write letters to Santa and then have them throw them on an open fire, "so Santa can read them when he comes down the lum" (a lum being the chimney). E-mailing Santa doesn't quite have the same charm.
