Mickey Mouse, like many first-generation Cartoons- such as Felix The Cat (pre-l927) and Bugs Bunny (l927-) was originally made for movie shorts- as when the projectors were being rewound. this accounts for the short running time. Some of the movie cartoons- namely the Warner ones ( Bugs, for example) had more mature and adult situations and were NOT patently angled at kids only- Mickey, of course ( Hi Boys and Girls!) was angled at children primarily-They were more juvenile in tone than the Warner cartoons, which some adults such as I could still find amusing. First TV cartoon- adapted from movie and comic-strip, was Felix the Cat ( King Feature syndicate) in l947 and an unairedFelix puppet head was used to test transmitters- a sort of 3-D test pattern- in a sense the (First) TV cartoon, but not aired publically. The Mickey Mouse Club television show- originally came out in l955 under the(Disneyland) monicker.
