The verses in Luke 2 relating to Simeon are followed by another very similar incident where a woman named Anna spoke, giving thanks to the Lord for the new-born Saviour. She was a widow for 84 years and of "a great age" we are told. So some see this as evidence that Simeon also was elderly.
