Since the very beginning of the show. First he didn't take it seriously, that's why he was staring at her when they were riding Appa. Also he tries to make her jealous and tries to get her to follow him on kyoshi Island by riding the Unagi.
He always liked her ALOT, but he didn't figure out why until a while later.

∙ 13y agoAccording to Avatar Extras, in Book 3, Chapter One, when Katara is healing Aang, it says something about when a nurse falls in love with her patient and then it's like "Could this be happening right now?" So I think Book 3, Chapter One. But she's still not sure of it.

∙ 13y agoWell Aang shows it really early as it was obvious in all his gaga looks at her all the time, and always tries to impress her.
Katara, i think first only just before the invasion when he kissed her. That was the only time she showed genuine surprise and affection to him. The only other possible one was in the fortuneteller's town, when Aang stops the lava wave with airbending, Sokka comments on how he's a really powerful bender, and Katara reflects how her fortune was that she would marry a very powerful bender, and wonders whether Aang is the one.

In the first season, her hairstyle was a plait with a part in her hair.Obviously, she had the hair loopies as well. To start, plait your hair leaving some hair from the front of your face (on both sides) hanging loose.
