All the video's you've been seeing on YouTube with shiny gold on psp, or the forums you've been reading about people with Pokemon shiny gold on psp are all about people who have custom firmware on their psp's.
You see there are two firmwares. The official firmwares created by sony, and custom firmware's created by hackers such as Dark Alex. There are many ways to go about getting custom firmware, which is essential if you want to be able to play emulators and roms such as shiny gold on your psp. First check around and see if there are any downgraders for you psp's current official firmware (I'm assuming you're on official firmware) If your psp is too high a version and their is no exploit or downgrader for your current version then you'll want to invest in a Pandora's battery and memory stick. These two tools have the capability to downgrade any psp firmware to 1.5 so that you may then upgrade to custom firmware. So to you or anyone looking to inquire about custom firmware just remember search engines are your friend and you're going to have to do a small amount of research to fully understand just what custom firmware is and how to obtain it.
