Wilhelm Roentgen (1845-1923) was born in Germany, but in 1848 the family moved to the Netherlands, where he lived till 1865. He studied in Switzerland and then spent his professional life as a physicist in Germany. He is particularly well known for his discovery of X-rays in 1895. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1901, when it was awarded for the first time.

Wilhelm roentgen married in 1872 to Anna Bertha Ludwig (m. 1872, d. 1919) and had no children, but they adopted one, Josephine Bertha Ludwig. Adopted at age 6, in 1887, she was the daughter of Anna's brother.
This is his most famous quote, "I didnt think, I experimented!"
In 1895, Wilhelm Rontgen discovered rays that he named x-rays. This discovery came while he was studying electric currents as they passed through gas that had very low pressure.
no he doesnt.
X-rays were discovered by German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen (27 March 1845 - 10 February 1923) on 8 November 1895, when he produced and detectedelectromagnetic radiation in a wavelength range.
