To get the Super Rod. Go to Lavender Town. Go down from there and reach a house on the bridge after you get past all the trainers on the way. Talk to the fisherman in that house and he'll give you the Super Rod. The fisherman at Lake of Rage will not give you a Super Rod, whenever you bring him a bigger Magikarp from time to time, All he'll give you is regular items. I caught a 44.4 inch Magikarp and he gave me a stinkin ether. I went to the fishing guru whose house is South of Lavender Town and he gave me the Super Rod.

β 14y agotry looking in houses. if you see a fisherman by himself talk to him. he is probably one of the brothers and they give you rods. like the fisherman you talk to in the house on the bridge right of the first city of your second region. (though theres a snorlax in the way lol)
